marty's b-day

our big boy just turned 3! marty's birthday is on christmas, so its kind of a tough situation to get his birthday stuff in with all the christmas goings on. but, somehow we managed it. when i asked marty what he wanted for his birthday, he said that he wanted a lightning mc queen cake and party hats for all his friends. poor little boy doesn't have any friends...i felt aweful! but, lucky for him, he has about 30 cousins! so, he had a lightning mc queen cake (i made it, and i am quite proud of myself), a pinata (he looks so little next to that thing!), and cars plates, a banner, and a table cloth. i could not find those stink'n hats anywhere! we do christmas with juan's fam on christmas eve, so it makes his birthday its own thing. it was fun. don't feel too bad that he has to share his birthday with christmas...i think he got almost too much stuff! (granted that most if it was from the dollar store...) but all in all, it was a great birthday!

santa claus came to town!!!

for as long as i can remember, santa has always taken a little time out of his busy schedule to come by our family's house and say hello. this year was no different. darcey and her family were here to visit, and so there were quite a few of us for him to get through. marty loved sitting on his lap and getting the chocolate puzzle (an advant calander...). every time santa pulled out a new one from his sack of goodies, to give to one of the kids, marty thought it was his...he'd been extra good! santa also brought some toys early this year, so that all the cousins could play with them. of course, marty wanted to open them all. it was a lot of fun. saidi even sat on the big man's lap, although i don't think she knew what to do. after all was said and done, it was a great night. marty loved it, and he can even tell you what santa says..."ho ho ho! what you want for christmas?!"

I recently got a studio set up, with a few backdrops and some lights. I decided to set it all up and use Marty and Saidi as my test subjects...they were good about it!

our little angel!

3 weeks and 1 day old, isn't she cute!

saidi

this is saidi corona, our newest addition. she was born friday, may 16th at 10:53 pm. she weighed 6 lbs 14 oz, and was 18 1/2 inches long. since day (night) 1 she has been a great baby. she lets me sleep through the night, only waking me up when she wants to eat (luckly!). marty is taking his responsibility of being a big brother seriously, and loves to hold and watch saidi. she's a great addition to our pack of coronas!

Marty and Kayla riding the merry-go-round at Kiddie Land
Marty and his cousin Dallin flying in the helicopters

Here are the all the local cousins at Easter this last year.

We are Coronas

our happy little 4-pack consists of papa juan, mama kayla, little marty, and baby saidi. we have 2 dogs, jasmie and mitsy. i, kayla am going to school and will be attending stanuslaus state in the fall. juan is working for merced county as administrative assistant to county supervisor john pedrozo. he will be going back to school in the fall as well. i am trying to build my portfolio so i can start my own photo business. i will be using the kids as my test subjects. juan is applying to the chp...hopefully all goes well! marty loves attending the child development center at merced college...he calls it "check it out, man!" he can count, do the abc's, knows his shapes, colors, animals and their sounds...his teachers are all very impressed! saidi...well, she's too small to be causing too much trouble yet, but i'm sure she will be a handful soon enough. marty loves being a big brother, and he's a good one at that. right now, we are enjoying getting to know our new addition and growing together as a family.
